The establishment of the Iloilo rice Processing Complex was made possible through a grant from the Korean government through the Korean International Cooperation Agency. The grant was provided to the Republic of the Philippines through the Department of Agriculture ( DA ). The location of the Iloilo RPC in Brgy. Amamaros, Pototan is a property of the Municipality of Pototan and it did the land development for the construction of the facility. Thus, the Iloilo RPC is jointly owned by the DA, the Provincial Government Unit of Iloilo and the Local Government Unit of Pototan.

The construction of the Iloilo rice Processing Complex started November 2010 and completed on January 2012.

The commissioning and testing of the machines was done February 2011 with the Korean Experts who undertook a few adjustments on the machines.

NABCOR will start managing the facility in the last week of February 2012, right after the RPC Inauguration and Turn-Over from KOICA to DA.

The full commercial operations will start on March 2012.
